Crayola is an iconic American brand that has been a staple in art education and childhood creativity for over a century. Originally founded as Binney & Smith in Easton, Pennsylvania, the company introduced the first boxes of Crayola crayons in 1903. Known for its wide array of colors and innovative products like the 'Color Wonder' line, the brand has expanded its global reach by partnering with major entertainment franchises like the Australian animated series Bluey to create themed activities.
While the company’s history is deeply rooted in Pennsylvania, where it still operates a large manufacturing facility, many secondary products like coloring pages and specialized ink systems are manufactured globally, frequently in Vietnam and China. Crayola became a wholly owned subsidiary of Hallmark Cards in 1984, integrating the stationery and creative arts giant's resources into Crayola's global distribution network. Today, the brand remains under the Hallmark umbrella, maintaining its headquarters in Easton while producing creative tools for children worldwide.
