Tiger Balm Red

Tiger Balm is one of the world's most famous topical pain-relieving ointments. Its history dates back to the late 19th century when Aw Chu Kin, a herbalist in Rangoon, developed the original formula. Upon his death, his sons Aw Boon Haw and Aw Boon Par moved the business to Singapore and established the brand under the name 'Tiger Balm,' named after the 'Haw' (Tiger) in Aw Boon Haw's name.

The product is widely recognized by its hexagonal glass jar and distinct herbal scent consisting of camphor and menthol. While it was originally developed in Burma and Singapore, it is currently manufactured in several Southeast Asian countries to meet global demand.

Today, the brand is owned by Haw Par Corporation Limited, a publicly listed company in Singapore. The brand has expanded from its traditional ointment to include medicated plasters, patches, and lotions, maintaining its status as a household staple for muscle aches and tension throughout Asia and internationally.
