Planet (formerly Planet Labs) is a pioneering American Earth imaging company that operates the world's largest fleet of Earth-observing satellites. Founded in 2010 by former NASA scientists, the brand's mission is to image the entire Earth every day to make global change visible, accessible, and actionable.

Their satellites, often referred to as 'Doves,' are designed and manufactured in-house at their headquarters in San Francisco, California. These high-frequency cubesats provide high-resolution imagery used for environmental monitoring, agriculture, defense, and urban planning.

Planet remains its own ultimate owner as a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. The company has grown significantly through the acquisition of other geospatial brands such as BlackBridge (RapidEye) and Google's satellite business, Terra Bella (SkySat). The brand's origin, manufacturing, and corporate leadership reside firmly within the United States.
