While the brand originated in France and maintains its global headquarters in Courbevoie, its fuels and products are sourced and manufactured in multiple countries where the company operates refineries and extraction sites. It underwent a significant rebranding in 2021 to rename itself from Total to TotalEnergies, reflecting its strategic shift toward carbon neutrality and renewable energy sources including electricity, hydrogen, and biomass.
