In the early 2000s, the brand's ownership shifted significantly when it was acquired as part of the Veba Oel acquisition. Since 2002, Aral has been the retail face of BP (British Petroleum) in Germany, maintaining its distinct blue and white branding while benefiting from BP's global supply chain and technical research.

Today, Aral stations offer much more than just petrol and diesel. They are major retail hubs featuring 'REWE To Go' convenience stores and car wash facilities. While the brand is quintessentially German in its origin and operation, its ultimate ownership resides with BP p.l.c., headquartered in London, United Kingdom.
