HTC, originally known as High-Tech Computer Corporation, is a prominent Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer. Founded in 1997, the brand initially gained international fame as an Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), designing many of the world's first touch-screen and wireless mobile devices. It later transitioned into a consumer-facing brand, becoming a pioneer in the Android smartphone market with the release of the first commercially available Android phone.

Today, HTC remains headquartered in Taoyuan City, Taiwan. While its presence in the smartphone market has shifted, the company has successfully pivoted into the virtual reality (VR) space with its VIVE brand. Manufacturing predominantly takes place in Taiwan, maintaining the brand's reputation for high-quality engineering and design.
