Tyskie is one of Poland's most recognizable beer brands, with its history dating back to 1629 at the Princely Brewery in Tychy. The flagship 'Gronie' variant shown in the image is a classic European Pale Lager known for its balanced bitterness and carbonation. The name Tyskie reflects its geographical origin in the town of Tychy.
While the brand remains deeply rooted in Polish brewing traditions and maintains significant production facilities within Poland, its ownership has transitioned over the decades as part of the globalization of the beverage industry. After being part of the Kompania Piwowarska group for many years, which was previously owned by SABMiller, the brand was acquired by the Japanese conglomerate Asahi Group Holdings in 2017.
Today, Tyskie is managed under the Asahi Europe & International division. It is marketed both as a premium mainstream lager in Poland and as a major expert brand in international markets, frequently exported to countries with large Polish diasporas such as the UK, Germany, and the United States.
