ATAG is a prestigious brand with deep roots in Dutch engineering, originally founded in the Netherlands in 1948 by Antoon Tijdink and Antoon van Goor. For decades, the brand established itself as a leader in high-end kitchen appliances, known for durability and minimalist design.
In the 2000s, the company transitioned through several ownership structures before becoming part of the ATAG Benelux group. In 2008, the brand was acquired by Gorenje, a major Slovenian manufacturer. Today, as part of a global consolidation in the home appliance sector, ATAG is ultimately owned by Hisense, a Chinese multinational electronics conglomerate that acquired the Gorenje group.
While the brand maintains its design focus and headquarters in Duiven, Netherlands, manufacturing is now integrated into Hisense's global supply chain, with major production facilities located in Slovenia and other parts of Europe to serve the premium market.
