Batavo is one of Brazil's most traditional dairy brands, originally founded in 1928 by Dutch immigrants in the Carambeí region of Paraná. The brand's identity is deeply rooted in Dutch dairy traditions, which is reflected in its iconic 'little Dutch girl' logo. Over the decades, it became a household name synonymous with quality milk, yogurt, and cheese products.
In recent years, the brand's ownership has transitioned through major corporate holding companies. Following a period under BRF (Brasil Foods), the brand was eventually acquired by Lactalis, a global leader in the dairy industry based in France. Today, Batavo products are primarily manufactured in Brazil across several regional plants, maintaining its historical connection to the Brazilian market while benefiting from the logistical and technical expertise of a multinational parent company.
