Tyrrells is a premium brand of hand-cooked potato crisps and snacks that originated in Herefordshire, England. It was founded in 2002 by William Chase on Tyrrells Court Farm, initially created to add value to the farm's potato crop. The brand is known for its distinct 'English' branding and thick-cut, kettle-style frying process.
Over the years, the company underwent several ownership changes, moving from private equity to the American firm Amplify Snack Brands in 2016. In 2018, Amplify (including Tyrrells) was acquired by the Hershey Company. Shortly after, the international operations of Tyrrells were sold to Intersnack Group. Today, Tyrrells is a key brand within the KP Snacks portfolio in the UK, which is a subsidiary of the German-based Intersnack Group. While the primary production remains at its historic home in Herefordshire, the brand is distributed globally through Intersnack's extensive network.
