Terry's Chocolate Orange is a quintessential British confectionery brand with a history dating back to 1767 in York, United Kingdom. Originally developed by the Terry family at the Chocolate Works factory, the brand became iconic for its orange-shaped chocolate ball that separates into segments. Over the decades, the product line has expanded to include seasonal variations and specialized treats such as the cream-filled eggs shown in the image.
While the brand's identity is deeply rooted in British heritage, its manufacturing has moved to mainland Europe following various corporate acquisitions. After the closure of the York factory in 2005 under Kraft Foods' ownership, production was relocated. Today, Terry's products are primarily manufactured in France at the Strasbourg facility. The brand is currently owned by Carambar & Co, which was formed after the investment firm Eurazeo acquired several confectionery brands from Mondelez International. This ownership structure places the ultimate control of the brand within France, bridging its historic English roots with modern European production and management.
