Oakley's product manufacturing is distributed globally, with specialized eyewear often produced in the USA or Italy, while accessories and apparel such as hats are frequently manufactured in facilities across Asia (e.g., Vietnam, China). In 2007, the brand underwent a significant ownership change when it was acquired by the Italian eyewear giant Luxottica.
