Amoksiklav antibiotic

Amoksiklav is a widely recognized broad-spectrum antibiotic medication containing a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium. It was originally developed by the Slovenian pharmaceutical company Lek, which has a long history in the development of generic and specialized medicines. Today, it remains a staple in treating bacterial infections such as those of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, and skin.

The brand is currently a part of the Sandoz portfolio. Sandoz was a longtime subsidiary of the Swiss multinational Novartis, but it became an independent public company in October 2023. While the brand originated in Slovenia, it is produced across Sandoz's global manufacturing network, with significant production still centered in Slovenia at LEK's facilities. Sandoz is now a global leader in generic and biosimilar pharmaceuticals, headquartered in Switzerland.
