Tim Tam is an iconic Australian chocolate biscuit first introduced by Arnott's in 1964. Named after the winning horse of the 1958 Kentucky Derby, the snack was developed by Ian Norris, who sought to create a superior version of the British Penguin biscuit. Since its debut, it has become a cultural staple in Australia, famous for the 'Tim Tam Slam' ritual and its unique structure of two malted biscuits separated by a light chocolate cream filling and coated in thin textured chocolate.

While the brand is synonymous with Australian identity, its ownership has transitioned through major international food conglomerates. After being owned by the American company Campbell Soup Company for several decades, Arnott's and the Tim Tam brand were sold to the global investment firm KKR (Kohlberg Kravis Roberts) in 2019. Despite these ownership changes, the majority of Tim Tam production remains based in Australia at Arnott's specialized facilities in Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide, ensuring the authentic taste that fans expect worldwide.
