iSHARE Foundation

iSHARE is an international digital trust framework designed to facilitate seamless data sharing between organizations. Originating in the Netherlands, it was developed by a collaboration of logistics and transportation experts to address the lack of trust and standardization in cross-sector data exchange. The framework provides a set of uniform agreements for identification, authentication, and authorization.

Today, iSHARE is maintained and governed by the iSHARE Foundation, a non-profit organization headquartered in the Netherlands. It operates as an open-source standard for the data space economy across Europe and beyond. The foundation ensures that all participants adhere to the same technical and legal rules, enabling a secure and scalable ecosystem for sovereign data sharing without the need for individual bilateral agreements.
