Ardbeg is a legendary Islay single malt Scotch whisky distillery located on the south coast of the Isle of Islay, Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Established in 1815, it is renowned for its heavily peated, smoky profile balanced with a distinct citrus and floral sweetness, a characteristic achieved through the use of a unique purifier on its wash still.

Throughout its history, the distillery faced several periods of closure and ownership changes, notably being mothballed in the 1980s before a revival in the late 1990s. This resurgence cemented its status among whisky enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. Its flagship product, Ardbeg Ten Years Old, is widely considered one of the quintessential Islay malts.

Today, Ardbeg is managed and produced in Scotland by The Glenmorangie Company. The ultimate ownership lies with the French luxury goods conglomerate LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton), which acquired the brand in 2004. The brand continues to maintain its traditional production methods while engaging a dedicated global fan base through the Ardbeg Committee.
