Method is a well-known brand of household cleaning supplies that emphasizes environmentally friendly practices and striking industrial design. Founded in 2000 in San Francisco, Method was a pioneer in the 'green cleaning' movement. The brand gained significant popularity for its sleek, translucent packaging and unique scents, which disrupted the traditional cleaning aisle dominated by harsh chemicals. In 2012, Method merged with the Belgian eco-friendly brand Ecover, forming People Against Dirty.

Since 2017, Method and Ecover have been owned by S. C. Johnson & Son, a major American multinational company. While the brand retains its creative roots and design-focused office in San Francisco, its manufacturing is distributed globally. For the European market, many products are manufactured in Malle, Belgium, while North American supplies are largely produced at the company's 'South Side Soapbox' factory in Chicago, Illinois.
