Its name is an abbreviation of its birthplace, a mountain village near Grenoble.

Today, Moncler is recognized as a global symbol of luxury leisurewear. While its roots are French, the brand was revitalized and transformed into a high-fashion powerhouse after being acquired by Italian entrepreneur Remo Ruffini in 2003. Manufacturing is primarily concentrated in Europe, with significant production facilities located in Romania, Bulgaria, and Italy, ensuring high standards of technical craftsmanship.
