Founded in 1816 by Eliphalet Remington in Ilion, New York, Remington is one of the oldest and most iconic names in American manufacturing. While originally a producer of firearms, the brand's ammunition division became a distinct and massive commercial success, known for legendary products like the Core-Lokt bullet.
Following the bankruptcy of Remington Outdoor Company in 2020, the brand's assets were split. The ammunition business, including the Lonoke, Arkansas manufacturing facility, was acquired by Vista Outdoor. In late 2023 and early 2024, Vista Outdoor entered into an agreement to sell its sporting products division (now known as Revelyst and The Kinetic Group) to Czechoslovak Group (CSG), making CSG the ultimate owner of the Remington ammunition brand. Despite international ownership, the brand maintains its massive manufacturing footprint in the United States, positioning itself as a leader in domestic ammunition production.
