Sebago is an iconic American heritage brand founded in 1946 in Maine. It is best known for its high-quality hand-sewn boat shoes and 'Classic' beefroll loafers like the B130258 model. Originally established by Daniel J. Wellehan Sr., William Beaudoin, and Joseph Cordeau, the brand gained international fame in the 1970s with its Docksides model.
While the brand's identity is rooted in New England craftsmanship, current manufacturing takes place in various global locations, including facilities in Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and El Salvador, to maintain its legacy of hand-sewn construction. In 2017, the brand was acquired by the Italian group BasicNet S.p.A., which also owns brands like Kappa and Superga, transitioning the brand's headquarters and strategic management to Turin, Italy.
