Tipiak is a renowned French food brand with roots dating back to 1830, formed by the merger of two century-old houses: Billard and Groult. The brand specializes in traditional grocery products, traditionally focusing on starches, grains, and crusts. Since its official establishment as Tipiak in 1970, it has become synonymous with authentic French culinary heritage, particularly known for its high-quality couscous, tapioca, and prepared frozen appetizers.
The majority of Tipiak's dry products, including its famous couscous and semolina, are manufactured in France across several dedicated production sites in the Loire-Atlantique and Brittany regions. In 2024, the brand underwent a significant ownership transition when the French agri-food cooperative Terrena acquired a majority stake in the company. This acquisition preserves the brand's French identity while integrating it into a larger cooperative network designed to support sustainable agricultural growth in Europe.
