Ringnes Extra Gold is a stronger pilsner-style beer produced by Ringnes, Norway's largest brewery. Founded in 1877 by brothers Amund and Ellef Ringnes along with Axel Heiberg, the brand has deep roots in Oslo's industrial history.
The product is primarily manufactured at Ringnes' main production facility in Gjelleråsen, just outside Oslo. Although it was a family-owned Norwegian enterprise for over a century, the company is now a prominent part of a global beverage group.
Since 2004, Ringnes has been a fully owned subsidiary of the Danish Carlsberg Group. Carlsberg is one of the world's leading brewery groups, headquartered in Copenhagen, Denmark. This ownership provides Ringnes with extensive international resources while maintaining its status as a cornerstone of Norwegian beverage culture.
