Historically a family-owned Danish company, the prawn processing activities of Launis were acquired by the Swedish seafood giant Royal Greenland (which is owned by the Government of Greenland) and later merged into a joint venture called Coldwater Prawns of Norway AS in some capacities, but specifically, the Skagen factory operations were part of a significant consolidation in the Nordic seafood market.
