BoxaGrippal is a well-known over-the-counter medication in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland), used primarily for treating symptoms associated with common colds and flu. The formula typically combines Ibuprofen, an anti-inflammatory pain reliever, with Pseudoephedrine hydrochloride, a decongestant designed to relieve sinus pressure and nasal congestion.
The brand was originally developed by the German pharmaceutical giant Boehringer Ingelheim. In a strategic asset swap completed in early 2017, the Consumer Healthcare division of Boehringer Ingelheim, which included the BoxaGrippal brand, was transferred to the French multinational Sanofi. Today, Sanofi manages the production and distribution of the brand, maintaining its strong presence in European pharmacies as a go-to solution for cold relief.
