Original Wagner Rustipani is a premium frozen snack brand part of the Wagner family, which originated in Nonnweiler-Braunshausen, Germany. The brand was founded by Ernst Wagner in 1968, originally starting as a bakery before revolutionizing the market with Tiefkühlprodukte (frozen products). It is famously known for its oven-baked quality and rustic bread dough.

In 2023, Nestlé and private equity firm PAI Partners formed a joint venture called Froneri (specifically for pizza and snacks in Europe, known as European Pizza Company), though the brand is now under the umbrella associated with these major global shifts in food ownership. This ensures that while the brand maintains its traditional German roots and manufacturing base in the Saarland region, it benefits from a massive international distribution network.
