Sensodyne is a globally recognized brand specializing in oral hygiene products specifically formulated for sensitive teeth. The brand was originally developed by Block Drug, an American company founded in 1907. Sensodyne hit the market in 1961 as the first desensitizing toothpaste containing strontium chloride.

Over the years, the brand underwent significant ownership changes. In 2001, Block Drug was acquired by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK). In 2022, GSK spun off its consumer healthcare division into a new independent company called Haleon. Haleon now manages and owns Sensodyne as its flagship oral health brand. While the brand has American roots, its manufacturing is now distributed across various global facilities, including major sites in the United Kingdom, Slovakia, and the United States to serve regional markets.
