Sharp's Brewery is a celebrated British brewing company originally established in 1994 by Bill Sharp in Rock, Cornwall. The brewery quickly rose to national prominence, largely due to the immense success of its flagship amber ale, Doom Bar, which became the top-selling cask ale in the United Kingdom. Known for its 'born of the coast' identity, the brewery maintains its roots in the North Cornish coast where it was founded.
While the brand maintains its Cornish spirit and heritage, its ownership has transitioned from a local independent craft brewery to a global portfolio. In 2011, Sharp's was acquired by Molson Coors Beverage Company. Today, while some specialty and cask variants are still produced at the original site in Rock, the high-volume production of the bottled and canned Doom Bar often takes place at the larger Molson Coors facility in Burton upon Trent to meet national demand.
