Ray-Ban is one of the most iconic eyewear brands in history, famously known for its high-quality lenses and classic silhouettes. The model shown is the Round Metal, a design that rose to fame in the 1960s. Originally developed by the American optical firm Bausch & Lomb in 1937, the brand was created to provide functional sunglasses for pilots in the US Air Force.
In 1999, the brand was acquired by the Italian eyewear giant Luxottica Group. Today, the manufacturing process occurs predominantly in Italy, though some models or parts are also produced in Luxottica's specialized facilities in China. Following a major merger in 2018, the brand is now under the umbrella of EssilorLuxottica, the world's largest eyewear company.
