Fisherman's Friend is a world-renowned brand of strong menthol lozenges, famously packaged in paper envelopes. The brand was originally developed in 1865 by pharmacist James Lofthouse in Fleetwood, Lancashire, England. It was specifically created to provide relief for fishermen working in the harsh conditions of the North Atlantic deep-sea fishing grounds.
All Fisherman's Friend products continue to be manufactured at the family-owned production facility in Fleetwood. The brand has remained under the control of the Lofthouse family for generations, maintaining a consistent manufacturing heritage in the UK even as it exports to over 100 countries worldwide. The Aniseed variety, shown here, is one of the many flavor expansions added to the original menthol and eucalyptus range.
