BIC is a household name globally recognized for its production of disposable consumer goods including lighters, pens, and razors. The brand was founded in France in 1944 by Marcel Bich and Édouard Buffard, initially focusing on stationery products like the famous BIC Cristal pen before diversifying into shavers in the 1970s.
The BIC Flex 5 Hybrid, pictured here, is a premium offering in their shaving line designed for a closer and smoother shave with its five flexible blades and balancing sphere. While the brand is quintessentially French, its manufacturing footprint is global. BIC produces its razors across several high-tech facilities, primarily in France, Greece, and Brazil to supply various international markets.
Today, BIC remains a publicly-traded company on the Euronext Paris exchange. It continues to be significantly influenced and owned by the Bich family, maintaining its heritage as a French-led enterprise that prioritizes high-volume, affordable, and reliable consumer products.
