Rentokil is a global leader in pest control and hygiene services, celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2025. The brand was founded in 1925 by Harold Maxwell-Lefroy, a professor of entomology at Imperial College London, originally as a brand for a line of woodworm treatment products. In 1957, the company was acquired by British Ratin, but it retained the Rentokil name and significantly expanded its service portfolio.
Today, the brand is owned by Rentokil Initial plc, a FTSE 100 company headquartered in the United Kingdom. Following the acquisition of Terminix in 2022, the company became the world’s largest pest control provider. Rentokil operates globally across 89 countries, providing localized services including rodent control, insect management, and hygiene solutions for both residential and commercial sectors. Their products and equipment are manufactured and sourced across a global supply chain to support their extensive regional operations.
