Eisenbahn is a premium Brazilian craft beer brand founded in 2002 in Blumenau, Santa Catarina. The brand was created by the family of Juliano Mendes, drawing inspiration from traditional German brewing techniques, which is reflected in its name (meaning 'railway' in German) and its locomotive logo. The brand played a pivotal role in the popularization of craft-style beers in the Brazilian market.
Starting as an independent microbrewery, Eisenbahn's success led to its acquisition by Schincariol in 2008. Later, Schincariol was acquired by the Japanese group Kirin in 2011. In 2017, Heineken N.V. purchased Brasil Kirin, making the Dutch multinational the current ultimate owner of the brand. Today, Eisenbahn is produced in various industrial plants across Brazil under Heineken's supervision, maintaining its connection to German beer purity standards while operating at a national scale.
