Tretorn is a prestigious Swedish brand founded in 1891 by Johan Dunker in Helsingborg, Sweden. Originally a manufacturer of rubber goods like galoshes and bicycle tires, the brand revolutionized the sports world with the introduction of its pressurized tennis ball in 1955 and later became a cultural icon in the 1960s and 70s with its Nylite tennis sneaker, famously worn by Björn Borg.

Over the decades, the brand's ownership has transitioned through major global entities. It was famously owned by the German sportswear giant PUMA for a significant period before being acquired by the New York-based brand management firm Authentic Brands Group (ABG). In a recent strategic move to bring the brand closer to its roots, Tretorn’s European operations and licensing were secured by WeSports, an Nordic powerhouse in sports and outdoor retail.

Today, while the brand's heritage is deeply rooted in Swedish design and innovative weather-protection technology, manufacturing is predominantly outsourced to specialized facilities in Asia to maintain global scalability. The brand continues to focus on sustainability, high-performance tennis equipment, and premium rainwear for the urban lifestyle.
