Founded in 1989 in North Vancouver, Canada, Arc'teryx began as ‘Rock Solid Manufacturing’ before evolving into a global leader in high-performance outdoor gear. The brand is renowned for its obsessive focus on design, craftsmanship, and technical innovation, particularly in the realm of climbing, skiing, and alpine pursuits. While the brand maintains a dedicated manufacturing facility in British Columbia known as ARC'One for its most technical products, the majority of its global production is handled through carefully selected partners in Asia and South America.

Over the decades, the ownership of Arc'teryx has transitioned through several major consolidations. In 2001, it was acquired by the Salomon Group, which was later purchased by Amer Sports. In 2019, Amer Sports was acquired by a consortium led by Anta Sports, making the brand part of one of the world's largest sportswear conglomerates. Today, Arc'teryx remains headquartered in North Vancouver, continuing to leverage its proximity to the Coast Mountains for product testing and development while operating under the global umbrella of Amer Sports, which went public on the NYSE in early 2024.
