Anna's Pepparkakor (known as Annas Ginger Thins internationally) is a quintessential Swedish brand famous for its thin, crisp gingerbread cookies. The brand was founded in 1929 by sisters Anna and Emma Karlsson in a small home bakery in the Östermalm district of Stockholm. Their secret recipe gained international acclaim, eventually leads to the company being named a Purveyor to the Royal Court of Sweden.
Today, the production primarily takes place in Tyresö, outside of Stockholm. Over the decades, the brand transitioned from a family-run business to a global player. In 2008, the company was acquired by the Belgian family-owned bakery group Lotus Bakeries. Under Lotus Bakeries, Anna's has expanded its presence worldwide while maintaining its traditional Swedish heritage and baking methods.
