Dulux is a world-renowned architectural paint brand with a rich history dating back to its introduction in the United Kingdom in 1931. Originally developed by Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) and DuPont, the brand name is a portmanteau of "DuPont" and "Luxury." It quickly became a market leader in the UK and Australia, known for its high-quality finishes and the iconic Dulux Dog mascot introduced in the 1960s.

Today, the ownership of the Dulux brand is split geographically. In most of the world, including the UK and Europe, it is owned by AkzoNobel, a major Dutch multinational specializing in paints and coatings. However, in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and Fiji, the brand is owned by DuluxGroup, which was acquired by the Japanese company Nippon Paint in 2019.

Manufacturing occurs in various regional factories to serve local markets; for example, Dulux products sold in the British market are primarily produced at AkzoNobel’s facility in Stowmarket and their advanced automated plant in Ashington, Northumberland. The product shown, Walls & Ceilings in Summer Linen, is a classic example of their interior decorative range used by both professional decorators and DIY enthusiasts alike.
