Gorreana Tea

Gorreana is Europe's oldest tea plantation, located on the island of São Miguel in the Azores, Portugal. Founded in 1883 by Ermelinda Pacheco Gago da Câmara, the brand has remained a family-owned business for five generations. The plantation is renowned for its organic practices, as the island's climate naturally prevents pests, eliminating the need for pesticides.

Today, Gorreana continues to produce green and black teas using traditional methods. The entire production cycle, from cultivation and harvesting to processing and packaging, takes place on-site at the estate in the Azores. The brand is currently owned and managed by the descendants of the original founder under the company name Chá Gorreana, maintaining its status as an independent, heritage-driven Portuguese enterprise.
