Sanpellegrino Pompelmo is a premium sparkling grapefruit beverage that has its roots in the Italian tradition of 'Aranciata'. The brand Sanpellegrino was founded in 1899 in San Pellegrino Terme, Italy, initially gaining international fame for its mineral water. The fruit-based sparkling range, known as 'Sanpellegrino Italian Sparkling Drinks', was launched in 1932, starting with the orange flavor before expanding to grapefruit (Pompelmo) and others.

While the brand is deeply Italian and the products continue to be manufactured primarily in Italy to maintain their authentic heritage and quality, the brand's ownership transitioned to the multinational level. Since 1997, Sanpellegrino S.p.A. has been a part of the Nestlé Group, the world's largest food and beverage company. This ownership allows the brand to distribute its Mediterranean-inspired sodas to global markets while maintaining its historic identity and production base in its home country.
