Electrolube EPC is a specialized electro-plating compound designed for use in electro-plating and anodizing plants to reduce voltage drops at busbar joints and connection points. By preventing corrosion and ensuring maximum current flow, it optimizes energy consumption and improves plating quality. The product is unique because it is resistant to plating solutions and does not contaminate electrolytes like standard mineral oils.
The Electrolube brand has its roots in the United Kingdom, where it was founded by Henry Kingsbury in the late 1950s. Kingsbury was a pioneer in the development of specialized lubricants for switchgear and electronic electrical contacts. Over the decades, the brand became a global leader in electro-chemical products for the electronics and industrial manufacturing sectors.
In 2021, Electrolube was acquired by MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, which is a division of Element Solutions Inc. This acquisition integrated Electrolube's specialized thermal management and encapsulation resin expertise into a global portfolio of electronics supply materials. Today, the brand is managed under the MacDermid Alpha umbrella, while maintaining its British heritage and primary manufacturing facilities in the UK.
