The brand's history dates back to 1901 when farmers in the Beemster polder joined forces to create a dairy cooperative. This specific variety is aged to achieve a full and piquant flavor profile, characteristic of authentic Dutch Gouda.

The manufacturing process takes place entirely in the Netherlands, specifically at the CO2-neutral dairy in the Beemster region. The cheese is made from 100% North Holland meadow milk, which is naturally creamier and softer than standard milk due to the unique soil of the reclaimed polder land.
