SCOTT Sports is a prominent global brand in the cycling and sporting goods industries. Originally founded in the United States by Ed Scott in 1958 with the invention of the aluminum ski pole, the company has since evolved into a powerhouse for performance machinery, including world-class bicycles, wintersports gear, and motorsports apparel.
While the brand has American roots, its headquarters were moved to Switzerland in 1998, which now serves as the central hub for its engineering and design operations. The manufacturing of their high-end carbon frames, such as the Addict series, is primarily concentrated in Taiwan, a global center for advanced bicycle production, though components are sourced from multiple international partners including Shimano and SRAM.
Today, the brand is under the ultimate ownership of Youngone Corporation, a South Korean conglomerate that first acquired a minority stake in 2013 and took majority control in 2015. This ownership structure has allowed SCOTT to maintain its premium positioning while leveraging a robust global supply chain.
