Cup-a-Soup is a world-renowned brand of instant soup known for its convenience and variety of flavors. Originally launched in the United States by Lipton in 1972, the brand was later introduced to the European market where it saw significant success, particularly in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. The product is designed as a quick snack, requiring only boiling water to prepare a single serving of hot soup in a mug.
Historically part of the Lipton portfolio, the brand transitioned through several corporate structures. While Lipton's tea business was largely divested into Liptea (now owned by CVC Capital Partners), the dry soup brand Cup-a-Soup remained under the ownership of Unilever. Today, it is managed as part of Unilever's Nutrition business group along with other prominent food brands like Knorr. Most production for the European market takes place in established food processing plants in various countries, with significant manufacturing hubs located in the Netherlands and the UK.
