OLW is one of Sweden's most iconic snack brands, widely recognized for its diverse range of chips and nuts. The brand's Nötmix Honung & Mild Chili is a popular variety that combines sweet honey-roasted flavors with a subtle spicy kick. While OLW has a heritage deeply rooted in Filipstad, Sweden, where many of its potato products are manufactured, the raw ingredients for nut mixes—including peanuts and cashews—are sourced internationally. Consequently, the final assembly and production often involve multiple countries depending on the supply chain.
The history of OLW dates back to the late 1960s, starting as a joint venture between Wasabröd and Borden Foods. Over the decades, ownership shifted, and OLW eventually became part of the Orkla Group. Orkla, a Norwegian industrial conglomerate, is the current ultimate owner. Under Orkla's stewardship, OLW continues to dominate the Swedish savory snack market while maintaining its headquarters and primary local operations in Sweden.
