TREK is a well-known brand specializing in plant-based protein snacks, notably their thick oat flapsacks and protein bars. The brand was originally created by Natural Balance Foods, a British company founded in 2004 with the mission to provide wholesome, minimally processed snacks. While the snacks are primarily engineered and manufactured in the United Kingdom, they are distributed across Europe and North America.

In 2015, a significant stake in Natural Balance Foods was acquired by the Belgian confectionery giant Lotus Bakeries. Today, Lotus Bakeries holds full ownership of the brand. This acquisition allowed TREK to expand its international reach while maintaining its focus on natural, vegan-friendly ingredients. The brand remains headquartered in the UK under the management of Lotus Bakeries' Natural Foods division, which also oversees other brands like Nakd.
