Duracell is one of the world's leading manufacturers of high-performance alkaline batteries, specialty cells, and rechargeables. The 'Simply' line was introduced as a value-tier alternative to the flagship CopperTop series, offering reliable power for low-to-medium drain devices at a more accessible price point. The brand is instantly recognizable by its signature 'Copper Top' branding, though the Simply line features a distinctive black and white logo variation.
Duracell's heritage date backs to the early 1920s through the work of Samuel Ruben and Philip Rogers Mallory. After various ownership changes throughout the 20th century, including a long period under Gillette and later Procter & Gamble, the company was eventually acquired by Berkshire Hathaway. Today, Duracell maintains a global manufacturing footprint with major facilities in the United States, China, and Europe, specifically Belgium, where many of the batteries distributed in the European market are produced.
