Royal Club is a quintessential Dutch soft drink brand with a history dating back to the late 19th century. Originally rooted in British beverage traditions, the brand was established in Rotterdam in 1887 by Josiah Russell & Co. to produce classic English-style mixers like tonic water and ginger beer for the Dutch market. Over the decades, it evolved into a beloved national staple, eventually coming under the ownership of the Tims family before being acquired by Vrumona in 1969.

Historically part of the Heineken portfolio through Vrumona, the brand underwent a significant ownership shift in 2023. Royal Unibrew, a major Danish beverage company, acquired Vrumona from Heineken, thereby becoming the ultimate owner of the Royal Club brand. Today, the products are still primarily manufactured in the Netherlands at Vrumona's production facilities in Bunnik. This Pink Grapefruit variant reflects the brand's modern shift toward health-conscious options, offering the signature "bite" of Royal Club without the sugar content.
