Poços de Caldas is an iconic Brazilian dairy brand founded in 1950 in the city of Poços de Caldas, Minas Gerais. The brand is particularly famous for introducing the first 'Requeijão Cremoso' (creamy spreadable cheese) to the Brazilian market, a product that has become a staple in Brazilian breakfasts.
Originally founded by the company Laticínios Poços de Caldas, the brand was acquired by the French dairy giant Danone in 1999. In 2015, as part of a strategic shift to focus on yogurt and health-focused categories, Danone sold its Brazilian cheese and spread operations to Lactalis, another major French multinational. Today, the brand is part of the Lactalis Group portfolio, benefiting from their global distribution networks while maintaining its traditional identity and production roots in Brazil.
