Arnott's is one of Australia's and New Zealand's most iconic food brands, with a history dating back to 1865 when William Arnott opened a small bakery in Newcastle, New South Wales. Over more than a century and a half, the brand has become a household name, famous for products like Tim Tam, Shapes, and the Farmbake range, which are staples in pantries across the Tasman region.
While the brand has deep Australian roots, it has seen significant changes in corporate ownership over the decades. After being owned by the American food giant Campbell Soup Company for several years, the Arnott's Group was acquired by the investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts (KKR) in 2019. This acquisition brought the company into a new era of investment while maintaining its massive manufacturing footprint in Australia and its strong market presence in New Zealand.
Today, Arnott's products are manufactured primarily in large-scale facilities in Australia, such as those in Sydney, Brisbane, and Adelaide. However, some product lines or special editions may be produced in other locations or through regional partners to meet consumer demand across the Asia-Pacific region. In New Zealand, the brand remains a market leader, often participating in local community initiatives and maintaining a distinct regional brand identity.
