Special K is a world-renowned brand of breakfast cereals and meal replacement bars first introduced by the Kellogg Company in 1955. It was originally marketed as a low-fat cereal primarily aimed at health-conscious consumers and weight management. Over the decades, the product line expanded from simple flakes to include various flavors, protein shakes, and portable snack bars like the one shown in the image.

Following a significant corporate reorganization in 2023, the Kellogg Company split into two distinct entities. The cereal business in North America became 'WK Kellogg Co', while the global snacking, international cereal, and plant-based foods division was renamed 'Kellanova'. As of 2024, the Mars family, through Mars, Incorporated, reached an agreement to acquire Kellanova in a massive industry deal, making them the ultimate owners of the Special K brand globally. Manufacturing occurs in numerous facilities across North America, Europe, and Asia to serve local markets.
