Solo is an iconic Norwegian orange soda brand that has been a staple in the country since its launch in 1934. The brand was originally created by Torleif Gulliksen and was inspired by a recipe from Spain. The 'Super' variant shown in the image represents the sugar-free version of the classic soda, specifically the 'Rød Appelsin' (Blood Orange) flavor.
Today, the Solo brand is owned by a consortium of beverage companies through the company AS Solo. Ringnes AS, a major Norwegian brewery, holds the largest shares and is responsible for the production and distribution of the drink. Ringnes itself is a fully owned subsidiary of the Carlsberg Group, a multinational brewing company headquartered in Denmark. Therefore, while the brand is deeply rooted in Norwegian heritage and produced domestically in Norway, its ultimate corporate ownership resides with Carlsberg in Copenhagen.
